Community Engagement & Marketing Interns

We are seeking two interns, who will support EqualSpace operations, marketing efforts, and event execution. Their work will include a one-month marketing campaign and assisting with two major events: MarketSpace and the Blueprint event in August.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in operations, community engagement, and project management while making meaningful contributions to EqualSpace’s mission.

Responsibilities

As part of their initial orientation, Community Engagement & Marketing Interns will:

  • Attend orientation and meet team members.

  • Set up accounts on Google Workspace, Asana, Canva, and social media platforms.

  • Shadow operations and marketing teams to understand workflow.

  • Assist in welcoming members and handling visitor inquiries.

  • Review past marketing campaigns and event strategies.

Social Media Engagement:

  • Develop a one-month marketing campaign to promote EqualSpace’s initiatives.

  • Collaborate on content creation, messaging, engagement strategies, and scheduling for social media.

  • Draft a marketing campaign plan, including social media, email, and print components.

  • Research target audiences

  • Engage with online communities and respond to comments and inquiries.

Events Planning and Operations Support: Events Research

  • Interns will take an active role in planning and logistics for MarketSpace and Blueprint by conducting vendor outreach, assisting in marketing, brainstorming activation ideas for events, drafting promotional content for email, social media, and printed materials, and managing event logistics.

Marketing & Outreach:

  • Contribute to EqualSpace’s social media presence by creating engaging posts and stories.

  • Help design and distribute newsletters and promotional materials.

  • Support outreach initiatives to attract new members and partnerships.

  • Implement the one-month marketing campaign and analyze engagement.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Track member feedback and contribute ideas to improve the community experience.

  • Assist with basic data entry and member account management.

  • Handle scheduling and logistics for events and meetings.

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.

  • Interest in community building, event planning, or coworking spaces.

  • Comfortable using social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

  • Experience with tools like Canva, Google Workspace, and CRM software is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm for EqualSpace’s mission and values.

Compensation

  • $22.50 per hour

INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 2 – August 2

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28 

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week, Monday–Thursday, 10AM–6PM

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.


 

Eligibility

To be eligible for Arts Intern 2025, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time rising junior (a current sophomore)
    – or –

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time junior – or –

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time senior graduating by fall 2025.

You must either reside or attend college in New Jersey.

You must have a Student Aid Index up to $6,250.
